BELTFOOD – the food industry network

The German-Danish initiative BELTFOOD was initiated to support and interlink the food industry in the Fehmarnbeltregion, which extends from the Hanseatic city of Lübeck up to the regions Ostholstein in Germany and Sjælland in Denmark.

The construction of the Fehmanrbelt fixed link gives birth to a big, integrated German-Danish market with a strong food industry and nearly five million consumers across the border.

This means for the economy, to think "outside of the box" and to benefit from opportunities!

In this regard BELTFOOD offers a strong tailwind and helps crossing bridges, developing new markets abroad, profiting from synergies, finding specialized business partners or even to recruit qualified manpower on the other side of the Fehmarnbelt.

The initiative is mainly financed through funds of the European Union (EU) program Interreg IVA in the Fehmarnbeltregion and co-financed by the Vækstfoum Sjælland and the LUEBECK Business Development Corporation.
